On the southern shore of Lake Issyk-Kul, about 4 km from Tosor village, there is an unusual place – Fairy Tale canyon.

The canyon was named ”Fairy Tale” because of bizarre rocky landscape, which for many years has been turned into fabulous sculptures and sculptural ensembles by wind. Some parts of "Fairy Tale" were given associative names for similarity with one figure or another. For example, a chain of mountains in the canyon was named "Chinese Wall" for the similarity with the monument of Chinese architecture. Here you can also find statues of hippopotamus, snakes, sleeping giant, dragon and entire castles. Because of the various rocks that in their base bear amazing color shades, the rocky statues not only have unusual shapes, but also a magical color.
